2013 CSTE Annual Conference

The conference connects more than 1,000 public health epidemiologists from across the country and will include workshops, plenary sessions with leaders in the field of public health, oral breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, and poster presentations. Attendees from across the country meet and share their expertise in surveillance and epidemiology as well as best practices in a broad range of areas including informatics, infectious diseases, immunizations, environmental health, occupational health, chronic disease, injury control, and maternal and child health. APHA Annual Meeting and Exposition

The theme for the 141st Annual Meeting and Exposition is “Think Global, Act Global: Best Practices Around the World.” The meeting program will address current and emerging health science, policy, and practice issues in an effort to prevent disease and promote health through 1,000 scientific sessions, 700 information booths and public health products and services, and hundreds of social events for attendees.

The theme for the ISDS 12th Annual Conference, “Translating Research and Surveillance into Action,” highlights one of the salient topics voiced by the biosurveillance community, and will focus on strategies for incorporating the latest in biosurveillance approaches, methodologies, and results into data-driven public health practices, programs, and policies. The pre-conference workshops and conference are designed to help build capacity for public health surveillance at multiple levels by addressing a need for information about the most up-to-date practices, tools, and research results.
